The Alt Pride event at Platt Fields Market Garden is a beautiful combination of creativity, community, and celebration, and I was thrilled to be invited to share a workshop. I designed a mindful creative activity with a twist, building on the theme of connection to facilitate interactions that continued beyond the workshop itself.

Painting pebbles is a well-known activity, as this simple creativity is readily accessible and low pressure. I created a welcoming environment with visitors free to attend for as long as they liked, and many chose to drop-in multiple times throughout the day. This gentle space itself encouraged conversation, and for those who wanted to continue this connection throughout the festival, there was an invitation to trade pebbles with other attendees. Participants we're given a small wearable token to identify themselves as willing to trade, making these interactions easy and comfortable.
