The Creative Explorers program gives emerging creatives the opportunity to work with artists on large-scale projects. During this time, I learned the art of willow sculpture and assisted the lead artist creating large works for Middlewood Locks Fest. On the day of the festival I supported the creative team with setup tasks, as well as helping artists at their stalls and with public engagement activities such as badge making. At another event I supported the installation of large fire sculptures as part of bonfire night celebrations. Projects like this are so important for new creatives. I am very grateful for the opportunities and connections made during this time.
