Welcome!

A photo of me smiling, I have pink hair and green glasses, there are trees in the background

My name is Nia.

I am a Lancashire-based multidisciplinary artist and facilitator, working with organisations and community groups to explore connection and creativity.

I believe in the significance of small gestures of kindness and strive to bring this into my work, creating a space to relax and experiment. There is clear evidence of the positive impact of art on wellbeing, but the pressure to be ‘good’ at art is often a barrier to engaging in these activities. My workshops are an opportunity to try new techniques or re-discover old interests, without the pressure of a perfect end product.

I have a background in mental health, having worked with charities to deliver Cognitive Behavioural Therapy based interventions both locally and virtually across the country. I have found that creating art together often facilitates conversations, allowing people to share their experiences and build understanding. I am a natural listener, I love hearing people’s stories and empowering them to reach towards their goals.

I have worked with a wide range of people, from kids’ clubs to care homes, and I am passionate about community-led projects. As a disabled artist, I understand the importance of tailoring activities to meet individual needs. If you are interested in bringing your ideas to life, please get in touch to discuss the aims of your session and any access requirements.
